Michelle Dibadj is a partner at BBC Law LLP, focusing her practice on catastrophic damage mitigation and litigation strategy. She assists insurance carriers and healthcare systems in developing damage mitigation strategies throughout all pre-litigation and litigation phases. Her background and expertise are instrumental in providing insights into collateral source laws across jurisdictions and developing the best methods for attacking economic and non-economic damages in medical malpractice and catastrophic injury cases. She also serves as consulting specialty counsel in risk reduction and litigation strategy.
Michelle is a seasoned legal professional with over 22 years of litigation experience. As a Nurse Attorney, she brings a unique insight to the medical and legal issues confronting healthcare providers. Michelle has extensive experience in claims and litigation management after serving as in-house counsel at a major St. Louis health system, as well as the last 14 years at the largest Catholic healthcare system in the United States, where she was responsible for implementing strategies to manage and mitigate risks associated with medical malpractice claims and litigation. Before her in-house tenure, she gained significant experience as a medical liability defense attorney, representing healthcare providers and hospitals and working for several years as a pediatric nurse before becoming an attorney.
Michelle speaks frequently on medical liability issues and risk reduction. She was also featured in the American Healthcare Leader Magazine, where she offered her perspective on current trends in the industry.
Michelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Iowa. She went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2002, graduating cum laude. She is a licensed member of the Illinois and Missouri Bar. She served on the Board of Directors for Generate Health STL in St. Louis, Missouri.
When she is not working, Michelle enjoys traveling with her family. She also loves supporting her daughter’s involvement in high school sports and cheering on the STL City Soccer Club.
