Elisabeth “Lis” R. Bala is a Partner at the BBC Law LLP Malvern Office. Elisabeth focuses her practice on mass tort and complex litigation in toxic tort, product liability, and mass tort actions. Elisabeth has devoted nearly a decade of her career to defending product manufacturers throughout the state of Pennsylvania at all stages of litigation. She is committed to providing her clients with the strongest possible defense while balancing the unique challenges presented by mass tort action and negotiating amicable and cost-effective resolutions for her clients whenever possible. Elisabeth is especially skilled at legal research and writing. She has authored countless motions and briefs on various legal topics at both the trial and appellate levels. She has successfully obtained the outright dismissal of her clients through written legal advocacy on numerous occasions.
Before developing her current practice, Elisabeth spent several years representing debtors and creditors in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. During this time, Elisabeth was a frequent volunteer for local non-profit organizations, through which she helped struggling families file for bankruptcy relief pro bono. She graduated from the Delaware Law School of Widener University, Magna Cum Laude, where she was a member of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and the executive board of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society. In law school, Elisabeth participated in the Delaware Civil Clinic, where she represented victims of domestic violence in the Delaware Family Courts, and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, where she helped low-income residents of Delaware prepare and file their tax returns. Elisabeth is licensed to practice in Delaware and Pennsylvania, including the United States District Courts for the District of Delaware and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Elisabeth was born and raised in Pennsylvania and lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia with her husband and young son. In her free time, she enjoys running marathons, volunteering for local youth sports, and cheering for Philadelphia sports teams.
